How EBSMEDA Started
Recognizing the untapped potential within Ebonyi men and women, the Ebonyi State government under the incumbent governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru saw the need to establish an Agency to be known as Ebonyi State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (EBSMEDA). Our vision is to turn Ebonyi State into a beacon of entrepreneurial success, where dreams transform into thriving businesses. And where challenges become opportunities for growth. We see a future where the success stories aren't just about individuals, but about the entire state. A future where every Small and Medium Enterprise, whether it's a farm in Afikpo or a tech startup in Abakaliki, has the tools to flourish, the capital to grow, and the network to thrive.

At the Ebonyi State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (EBSMEDA), we stand as more than a conventional institution. Our agency fuels the spirit of entrepreneurship in Ebonyi State, diligently fostering, fortifying, and cultivating a dynamic ecosystem for Small and Medium Scale enterprises (SMES).
EBSMEDA's role is expansive. We collaborate with local and international financial partners to ensure our SMEs secure access to affordable capital, growth-enhancing credit, and the necessary tools to broaden their ventures. We'll consistently invest in research, innovation, and the formulation of SME-supportive policies. Above all, we'll form a conducive environment for the growth of SMEs within the state and improve the ease of doing business for investors in the state.

Access to Capital and Affordable Credit
EBSMEDA partners with local and international financial institutions to provide Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with access to affordable capital and low-interest credit, tailored to support the growth of their businesses.
Mentorship and Networking
EBSMEDA creates linkages between SMEs and large businesses for mentoring apprenticeships, franchising, and networking. These interactions offer invaluable lessons and growth opportunities for budding enterprises.
Capacity Building Programs

Business Development Services
Our agency provides a variety of services designed to support SMEs and entrepreneurs in developing their ideas into profitable businesses. These services include business management information, interactive tools, and other knowledge resources, either free or at subsidized rates.
Policy Advocacy
We work closely with the State Government to advocate for and formulate policies that create a conducive business environment for SMEs. These policies are designed to stimulate economic growth through job creation, youth empowerment, and women empowerment.
